Every year the Municipality of Puntagorda organises the Festival of the flowering almonds. It is usually the last weekend in January or the first weekend in February.
AT this time Puntagorda and the surrounding hillsides are covered in almond blossom.There is dancing in the streets throughout the night in the Friday and Saturday, sports events and traditional folk music and folk dancing in traditional costume. On the Saturday afternoon almonds and wine are given away free, and also some locally made almond products (cakes and biscuits).
